There are several “sweet” spots around western Issyk Kul, depending on the population variant. Some years few - some years more. The are huge semi-desert habitats for the species on northern shore of Issyk Kul. In some winters hundreds of birds, some winters less. In generel, a rare breeding bird in Kyrgyzstan.
