Biology

Rare passage migrant. Occurs on shores of fresh or salty lakes, on coast and on islands of Caspian Sea and Aral Sea. In spring appears in April, migration finishes in end of May or in early June. At autumn arrives in end of July - August. Most of birds observed in September, and latest ones registered in end of September – first ten days of October. Migrates singly and in flocks, sometimes up to several hundred specimens.
